     Jeera Rice

Jeera rice is a popular North Indian rice recipe that consist rice and whole cumin seeds. It is easy to prepare, fluffy rice to team up with any curry you like.

Preparation Time : 5 minutes    Cooking Time : 10 minutes
Simmer Time : 5 minutes            Serving : 2 persons

Ingredients:
  1. Basmati Rice - 2 cups
  2. Water - 3 1/2 cups
  3. Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Ghee (clarified butter)- 1 tablespoon
Whole Spices:
  1. Bay Leaf - 1
  2. Cloves - 4-5 numbers
  3. Cumin/ Jeera - 1 tablespoon

Steps:

1. Here are all the ingredients.
2. Heat ghee (clarified butter) in a sauce pan/ pressure cooker. Add all the whole spices and let them splutter.
3. Wash 2 cups of rice and add them in the pan. Add salt and mix well.

4. Add 3 1/2 cups of water, cover and let it cook till rice gets cooked well. If you are using a pressure cooker , cook it for 1 whistle and let it cool completely.
5. Enjoy the rice with any curry you want.
