Bengali Luchi
Bengali Luchi is a fried bread made with all purpose flour. It is very soft in texture. Difference between Luchi and puri is , puri is made with wheat flour while Luchi with all purpose flour. Today in this blog post I will cover how to prepare luchi at home in simple steps.
Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Resting Time : 15 minutes
Servings : 2-3 persons
Ingredients :
- All Purpose Flour - 2 cups
- Clarified Ghee - 2 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - for kneading
- Oil - for frying

Steps :
1. Here are all the ingredients. You can substitute clarified ghee with 3 tablespoon of cooking oil.
2. Take flour in a mixing bowl, add clarified ghee and salt in the flour and mix well.
3. Add little bit of water at a time and knead a soft and smooth dough.
4. The dough is ready now. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
5. Take ball size portion from the kneaded dough, and apply oil on it. Apply oil on the rolling board, do not use dry flour for rolling.
6. Roll the luchi.
7. Do not roll the luchi very thin.
8. Heat oil for frying and put the luchi in hot oil.
9. Press the luchi lightly from middle to puff it up.
10. Turn the luchi on other side and cook it. Do not overcook the luchi or turn it very red.
11. Make all the luchi and enjoy hot with your favorite curry.
