Chicken Momo
Chicken Momo is a non-vegetarian dish originated from Tibet. Momo is a type of steamed dumpling with some form of filling whether it is vegetarian or non-vegetarian. Momo has become a traditional delicacy in Nepal, Tibet and among Nepalese/Tibetan communities in Bhutan, as well as people of Ladakh and Northeast India. Today I am making chicken momos with some easy to follow steps.

( I have given the link of ingredients at the end of the recipe where you can buy them easily)
Steps :
1. Here are all the ingredients for filling.
2. Take all the ingredients of filling in a mixing bowl along with 2-3 tablespoon of oil, squeeze the minced chicken with the seasonings till it mixed properly.
3. The filling is ready. Cover and keep it aside.
4. Here are all the ingredients for the tomato dip / chatni.
5. Take roasted sesame seeds in a blender and grind it coarsely. Keep it aside.
6. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan/wok, add roughly chopped green chilli and saute it for 30 seconds on medium flame.
7. Add roughly chopped tomatoes along with garlic and salt. Cook the tomato till it turns soft and mushy.
8. The tomatoes are cooked perfectly. Switch off the flame and let the tomatoes cool down completely.
9. Once tomatoes cool down, take them in a grinder along with the coarsely ground sesame powder and coriander leaves. Grind the mixture till it gets smooth.
10. Once done, take out the dip in a bowl and keep it aside.
11. Take 3 cups of all-purpose flour in a big bowl, add 2 tablespoons of oil and mix well.
12. Add a little bit of water at a time and knead the dough. Do not knead the dough very soft.
13. Once the dough is ready, cover it and let it rest for 15 minutes.
14. Take small portion of dough, make smooth ball out of it and flatten it.
15. Roll the dough in a small sheet. Do not roll it very thin. You can use a little bit of oil for smooth rolling.
16. Put 1 1/2 tablespoon of filling in the middle of the rolled sheet, apply water on the edges of the sheet and fold half of the sheet on the filling to give it the shape of momo.
17. The momo is ready. Make all the momos like this. You can shape the momos as per your choice.
18. Here I have made 2 different shapes of momos. Once the momos are ready, take a steel colander/momo steamer, apply a little bit of oil on the surface and arrange the momos on the colander.
19. Put the colander on the boiling water and cover. Cook the momos for 12-15 minutes on medium-high flame.
20. Once cooked, take out the momos in a serving plate and enjoy with the dip.
