Plain Butter Naan
Plain butter naan is very common bread in Indian restaurants these days and usually served with curry. The bread is prepared using all Purpose flour and is soft and fluffy.Today I will be show casing how one can prepare naan at home in simple steps.

Servings : 2-3 persons
Ingredients :
- All Purpose Flour - 1 1/2 cup
- Curd / Dahi - 3/4 cup
- Salt - 1/2 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1/2 tablespoon
- Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Water - for kneading + 3 tablespoon
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps :
1. Here are all the ingredients.
2. Take flour in bowl, add salt, baking soda and sugar and mix well.
3. Add curd/dahi and mix well in the flour.
4. Add little bit of water at a time and knead to form dough.
5. Once dough starts to combine, add 1 tablespoon of oil and knead till the dough turns smooth and soft.
6. The soft and smooth dough is ready. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
7. Take small ball size dough and flatten it. Dust little bit of flour on it.
8. Roll the dough in your desired shape and apply a thin layer of water on it. Here I rolled it in oval shape.
3. Add curd/dahi and mix well in the flour.
4. Add little bit of water at a time and knead to form dough.
5. Once dough starts to combine, add 1 tablespoon of oil and knead till the dough turns smooth and soft.
6. The soft and smooth dough is ready. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
7. Take small ball size dough and flatten it. Dust little bit of flour on it.
8. Roll the dough in your desired shape and apply a thin layer of water on it. Here I rolled it in oval shape.
9. Heat a griddle / Tawa on medium - high heat and put the rolled naan on the heated Tawa/griddle. Put the water coated side of naan upside down so it sticks on the tawa.
10. Turn the griddle / tawa upside down and put the heat on high. Cook the naan till it turns golden brown on the upper side. Preferably, use LPG gas for better result.
11. The naan is puffed and cooked perfectly.
12. Apply 1/2 tablespoon of butter on the naan.
13. The naan is cooked perfectly from the bottom part also.
14. Serve the naan with your favorite curry and enjoy.
