 Veg Manchurian

Veg Manchurian is dish from Indo-Chinese cuisine. It comprises of vegetable ball dipped in sauce made from tomato sauce, soy sauce, chili and garlic. Today I am making this simple recipe and I hope you enjoy preparing this dish.
Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Frying Time : 5-10 minutes
Cooking time : 10 minutes
Serving : 2-3 persons
Ingredients :
For Balls :
  1. Cabbage - 1/2 cup fine chopped
  2. Carrot - 1/4 cup fine chopped
  3. Onion - 1 fine chopped
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tablespoon
  5. Salt - according to taste
  6. Black Pepper Powder - 1 teaspoon
  7. Corn Starch - 2 tablespoon
  8. All Purpose Flour - 2 1/2 tablespoon 
For Manchurian Sauce:
  1. Onion - 1/4 cup cubed
  2. Capsicum/ Bell Pepper - 1/4 cup
  3. Garlic - 1 tablespoon fine chopped
  4. Green Chili - 1 tablespoon fine chopped
  5. Szechuan Sauce - 1 1/2 tablespoon
  6. Spring Onion - 2 tablespoon
  7. Red Chili Sauce - 1 tablespoon
  8. Tomato Sauce - 1 tablespoon
  9. Soy Sauce - 1 tablespoon
  10. Water - 1 cup
  11. Oil - 2 tablespoon + for frying
1. Here are all the ingredients. 
2. Put cabbage carrot and onions in a hand chopper and chop them fine. You can also add your favorite vegetables if you wish to.
3. Remove the chopped vegetables in a mixing bowl, add salt, black pepper powder and ginger garlic paste (click here for recipe). Mix well with the vegetables.
4. Add all purpose flour and corn starch. Coat the vegetables with the flour.
5. Once coated, start squeezing the vegetables so they release their water and starts combining.
6. Now the mixture is ready.
7. Heat oil in a pan/ wok on medium heat for frying, make small balls of the made mixture and add in the medium hot oil. Do not over heat the oil, the balls remain raw from inside.
8. Fry the balls from all the sides till brown. 
9. Drain in a kitchen towel and keep it side.
10. Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in wok on high heat, add chopped garlic and chopped green chili. Saute them for 10 seconds on high heat.
11. Add cubed onions and capsicum/ bell pepper, mix and saute for 30 seconds.
12. Add 1 tablespoon red chili sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, salt and szechuan sauce(click here for recipe). Mix well and cook for 30 seconds on high heat. Stir continuously.
13. Add 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoon of spring onions. Let the mixture boil.
14. In the mean time make corn slurry to make the sauce thick and glossy. Take 1 tablespoon of corn starch  and 2 tablespoon of water in a bowl. Mix and make a lump free slurry.
15. Once sauce starts to boil, add the made slurry and mix well. Boil for another 1 minute.
16. Add the veg fried balls in the sauce and coat well.
17. Serve hot and enjoy.

     Bread Crumbs Bread Crumbs are sliced residue of dry or discarded bread used for crumbing foods or thickening of soups. It is easy/ fast to make and can be stored for 4-5 weeks easily in a air tight container. Here I am taking brown part which we generally discard while making sandwiches/ bread balls. I also took first and last bread.  2. Break whole breads in small pieces.  3. Heat a pan/ wok. Dry roast the breads. 4. Roast the breads till golden brown. 5. Transfer in a dry plate and let it cool down. 6. Take the breads in a grinder and grind fine. 7. Grind well. Store in a dry air tight container. You can store this bread crumbs for 4-5 weeks. Use this bread crumbs for coating cutlets,veggies or any of your favorite foods for extra crunchiness.
