Matar Paneer Rice
Matar Paneer Rice is a one pot meal which gets cook very fast as well as satisfies your tastebuds. You can add any vegetables as per your wish. Today I added only green peas and paneer/cottage paneer.
Preparation Time : 10 minutes Cooking Time : 20 minutes
Simmer Time : 10 minutes Serving : 2-3 person
Ingredients :
- Rice - 2 cup
- Water - 3 1/2 cup
- Green Peas - 1 cup
- Paneer/ Cottage Cheese - 50 grams
- Onions - 1 sliced
- Tomato - 1 diced
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tablespoon
- Coriander / Cilantro Leaf - 1 cup chopped
- Oil - 2-3 tablespoon
Whole Spices :
- Bay Leaf- 1
- Cinnamon Stick- 1 inch
- Cumin Seeds- 1 tablespoon
- Cloves- 4-5
- Black Peppers- 1 teaspoon crushed
Powdered Spices :
- Turmeric Powder- 1 teaspoon
- Salt- according to taste
- Red Chili Powder- according to taste
- Cumin Coriander Powder- 1 tablespoon
- Biryani Masala- 1 tablespon

Steps :
1. Here are all the ingredients. I have already shallow fried my paneer/cottage cheese.

2. Heat the oil in a wok/ pressure cooker (I used pressure cooker) and add all the whole spices in the oil.
3. After spluttering of whole spices add sliced onions, ginger garlic paste (click here for recipe), saute for a while till onions turns translucent and ginger garlic paste cooks well.
4. Add diced tomatoes and mix well. Cook tomatoes till it gets slightly mushy.
5. Once tomatoes gets slightly mushy add all the powdered spices and mix well. Cook the mix till it separates oil.
6. Add green peas and mix.
7. Add washed rice (no need to soak).
8. Add fried paneer/cottage cheese and mix well.
9. Add water ( I used 3 1/2 cup of water for 2 cup of basmati rice) , add chopped coriander/ cilantro , mix well and cover till rice gets well cooked.
Note: If you are using pressure cooker, cook it for one whistle and let it cool completely.
10. Serve hot with a sprig of love . Team it with some pickles/ curry/salad/raita.
